I will say "now that's a system that works". It is a measurable deterrence. And it started when the people of South Korea protested!

An example to follow

Just yesterday, South Korea’s former President, Park Geun-hye, was sentenced to 24 years in jail after she was found guilty of corruption, abuse of power and coercion. 24 years imprisonment for an immediate past President after just year of corruption probe?

I will say "now that's a system that works". It is a measurable deterrence. And it started when the people of South Korea protested!

If it were to be in Nigerian, it will take more than 40 years to obtain such conviction (if it will ever be obtained). In Nigeria, those accused and convicted of Corrupt practices are celebrated by the people, or are pardoned by the government. Nigeria has a problem of either an unwilling government or an unwilling people that isn't ready to fight corruption.

If after three years, the ruling government is still updating the list of looters instead of counting the number of corrupt politicians in prison and is yet to bring all the people in their list to justice, how can that government talk about integrity or the rule of law and still hope to be taken seriously.

Nigeria’s greatest good at this point in history is to demonstrate serious consequences for bad behaviour in the country. There is no better starting point than what i proposed in my speech delivered on CRJ's Social Justice Procession Day, which is, finding ways to jail corrupt politicians without fear or favour. We want to see corrupt politicians headed to jail without further excuses.

President Buhari must recognize that Nigerian masses beckoned him back to power because he was promoted as a strong, resolute, just, and transparent leader who has the willpower to demonstrate serious consequences for bad behavior regardless of whose ox is gored.

Nigerians are still yearning more than ever for that leader.
